And that’s where plugins come into the picture. There is a wide range of plugins available in the WordPress community with the majority of them being free and some of them being paid.

Before we identify and use the essential or most important plugins in our website, let’s first understand what a plugin is, how it helps us, and how to add it to our website.

What is a plugin?

A plugin is an additional piece of software or application that helps us to extend the basic functionality of our WordPress website. This means, there is already certain functionality available as an independent piece of application, by integrating which will help us to achieve our requirements.

Now let’s see, how we can install or add a plugin to our website.

How to install a plugin in WordPress?

To install a plugin in WordPress we will follow three simple steps as mentioned below.

Click on the Plugins option from the left side menu.

Click on Add New option, to install a new plugin, or select the upload option from the top, in case you already have a plugin copy in your system.

After installing the plugin of your choice, activate the plugin by clicking on the Active button. Once the plugin is activated, you are free to make use of that plugin’s features on your website.

When it comes for security of my website, I trust none other than Sucuri. It is internationally recognized organization in terms of website security and also they are specialized in wordpress security. Some of Sucuri’s features include – security notification, blocklist monitoring, regular audits, remote malware scanning and much more.

After struggling with multiple wordpress project for creating duplicate post and content easily, I could finally do my work faster and easier with this plugin Copy & Delete Posts. Its a free plugin and you can use it to create multiple duplicates of your posts or page easily with just one click. Instead of manually adding similar types of posts and pages by clicking on Add New option, the plugin comes in very handy and I would definitely recommend the same for content heavy sites.

WP Forms

WP Forms is a great plugin to create forms on your website. It is a free plugin that you can use in your contact pages to collect user’s emails or any other kind of forms you wish to create based on your website or business needs. In case you are not using any page builder like Divi or Elementor, then you can try using WP Forms.
